The Seoul Animal Film Festival, in collaboration with Indie Space, will host the third screening of the 2024 Monthly Animal Film series on June 26. The event will feature the film “Wendy and Lucy” (2008), followed by an Indie Talk session with director and film critic Kim Hyun-min discussing “Animals in Kelly Reichardt’s Films.”
“Wendy and Lucy” portrays the journey of a drifter, Wendy, searching for her only companion, a dog named Lucy. The film is praised for its focused narrative and rich world-building despite its simple storyline.
Kim Myung-hye, team leader of the Seoul Animal Film Festival, highlighted the significant presence of animal actors in Reichardt’s films and expressed excitement about discussing the director’s unique approach to filming animals.
