The Arts Council Korea (ARKO) will host the 6th Easternmost Film Festival from September 9 to 11 near Hyunpo Port in Ulleung County, Gyeongbuk. The festival, which showcases Ulleung Island’s unique culture, aims to revitalize areas at risk of depopulation.
This year’s theme, “Ulleung, Island, Nature,” features 12 selected films from 207 submissions. The festival will open with The Sea in Front of My House, a film highlighting the daily lives of Ulleung residents.
Festival-goers can engage in Q&A sessions with filmmakers, enjoy live jazz performances of movie soundtracks, and participate in interactive programs inspired by the films. Additional activities include body painting, plogging, and eco-friendly silk-screening workshops.
