The 21st EBS International Documentary Festival (EIDF) begins on August 19, featuring 53 films from 32 countries. Co-hosted by EBS and K-DOCS, the festival will explore themes like social conflicts, nature, education, life and death, women, family, diaspora, culture and arts, and history.
This year’s theme, “Bridging Eras,” focuses on contemporary issues and future coexistence. The Festival Choice competition includes 11 films, with A French Youth as the opening film, depicting the story of two North African youths in southern France’s “Camargue Bullfighting.”
EIDF2024 offers screenings in theaters, on EBS 1TV, and via online VOD. Supported by Goyang City, the festival also includes free outdoor screenings and ecological programs at Ilsan Lake Park on August 24, with free screenings for Goyang residents at Megabox Baekseok Bellacitta.
The K-DOCS platform will offer business meetings and investment opportunities for documentaries, providing 740 million won in prizes and production support.
