The Gwangju Cultural Foundation (CEO Se-Young Oh) hosted the “2024 Gwangju WASBE Festival Wind Orchestra” at Yonsei University in Seoul to celebrate the upcoming 20th WASBE World Conference in Gwangju.

About the WASBE World Conference

  • The WASBE World Conference is a premier global event for wind bands, held biennially and known as the “Olympics of Wind Music.” For the first time, it will be held in Korea, in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, featuring over 2,000 musicians from 50+ countries.

Successful Promotion

  • The Seoul concert, attended by over 700 people, showcased high-quality performances of pieces by Rossini, Bizet, and Stravinsky. The enthusiastic response highlighted the rising interest in the upcoming conference.

High Expectations

  • Music industry experts praised the concert, noting the rarity of such high-level wind orchestra performances in Korea and expressing high expectations for the July conference.
